THE BARN
Located in Urbana, IL, The Barn CU was a DIY venue that hosted dozens of bands over the course of a year and a half.
For those unfamiliar with DIY, it involves hosting concerts in unconventional spaces such as basements, garages, and in The Barn’s case: a living room. Urbana-Champaign has a long history of DIY venues and a rich history of music.
The Barn was not the first DIY venue around, but its founders Jesse McKenzie & myself certainly strived for it to be the best.
Over the course of The Barn’s run, we hosted over 40 unique artists over the course of 17 shows; attracting an average of 150+ audience members per show.
